Co-founder Prof. Siew Ng Crowned the Science and Technology Innovation Award Again!
We are thrilled to announce that Prof. Siew Ng, co-founder of G-NiiB GenieBiome, has been awarded the prestigious “Life and Health” Award at the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize 2024!
This recognition highlights Prof. Ng’s unwavering commitment to advancing medical science and improving health outcomes through her pioneering research. Prof. Siew Ng is the Director of the Microbiota I-Center (MagIC), a New Cornerstone Investigator, a Croucher Professor, and Assistant Dean (Development) of the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Ng has made groundbreaking discoveries in identifying novel microbial signatures associated with gastrointestinal inflammation and autism spectrum disorders. Her innovative work is transforming these findings into clinically applicable, non-invasive tests for early diagnosis and timely intervention.
In the award ceremony and press conference on 11 Nov 2024, the chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation, Prof. Dennis Lo, presented five awards on behalf of the alliance. Prof. Lo said the body’s annual tech awards are paramount for the development of the local science and technology sector and supporting the local economy’s transformation.
“I think these young people in innovation and technology are the future of the industry in Hong Kong. Their ability to innovate and passion for research are important in advancing the sector’s development for the SAR, and even that for the country,” Prof. Dennis Lo said.
